Case study - Consultancy

THE SITUATION

Client was running a Windows workgroup configuration, with no Server present and a POP based email system. No backups of email were taking place and there was no central point of network administration.

The CRM Application Maximizer was also in use, and was in need of an upgrade to take advantage of the latest features such as calendar sharing and newsletter emailing.

THE SOLUTION
Wavehill recommended Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 as it was a cost effective solution to combine Microsoft Exchange, File and Print Services, as well as the Windows 2003 network Security model.

A new Server with a three year onsite warrantee was installed and a backup tape drive was fitted. The users Email and contacts were imported from each PC into the Exchange Email system and users were converted to Microsoft Outlook. All data was consolidated to a single shared folder on the Server.

Backups were automated leaving the user to simply change the tape on a daily basis.

Maximizer CRM was upgraded to the latest version and training was also provided.

THE RESULT

Users are more productive, network speed increased dramatically and application stability is no longer a worry for the client.

Backups are done on a daily basis and data loss is no longer a concern.

IT Support calls are almost non existent and support costs were also reduced.
