Tamdown Regeneration is part of The Tamdown Group of
construction companies
Based in Braintree, Essex, they work with Britain's
biggest residential developers to build homes across
the country.
Barratt Homes, Laing Homes, Westbury Homes and Wimpey
Homes are just four of the property giants the company
counts as its customers.
In addition to the regeneration business, which cleans
derelict to enable these spaces to be used for redevelopment,
the group includes a groundworks, civil engineering
and concrete frames business Tamdown
Limited.
Successfully managing growth
The group first began using Maximizer when it launched
Tamdown Regeneration in 2000. "Starting the business
from scratch we needed to understand the market and
keep records of our customers and our contact with them,"
explains Tamdown Regeneration director Chris Doré.
Three years later the group, which has grown significantly
since the late 1990's, realised "our service to
our clients needed to improve", says Chris, and
the initial two user Maximizer license was expanded
to more than 20 users.
"Maximizer has helped us prevent duplication of
work and improved our customer relationships because
we can now ensure different parts of the business don't
call the same clients on same day," he explains.
Improving market intelligence
The company works in a business to business market,
where a project can take more than two years from ttender
to completion. Since the company started using Maximizer
"our market intelligence has really grown,"
says Chris.
"We understand our clients better and our competitors'
activities to a greater degree. It's also helped us
identify where we need to concentrate our effort in
terms of the tender process," he adds.
A successful partnership
Tamdown Regeneration is supported by Wavehill, who
offers technical advice and help with staff training.
"Wavehill have been an enormous help. They offer
us technical support when we need it. If someone raises
an iissue they always deal with the problem efficiently
and effectively. And they've made sure we get the most
out of the software by helping us take advantage of
product enhancements," says Chris.
A tool for business growth
Chris believes the company has only just started seeing
the real benefits that Maximizer can offer. "I
think we'll see an even greater return on investment
as we continue to understand how to use it as a tool
for our business."
