Client had outgrown the existing POP system for email,
and email management was turning into an administrative
nightmare.
With a 2 GB limit on Outlook PST data files the users
email needed to be kept under this limit else Outlook
would crash, leaving the their email inaccessible.
Backup of each users PST file needed to be done on
a per PC basis, and backup times were lengthy.
Remote access to email was unavailable and users were
locked to one desk to access their Outlook.

Wavehill recommended and deployed Microsoft Exchange 2003, and
with careful planning was able to do the installation and migration
during office hours with virtually no downtime.
All users were configured with mailboxes and the email data
was imported. The latest version of Microsoft Outlook was
installed on all PC's and training was provided.
Remote HTTP access to the email system was configured.
Server based email scanning was setup using Trend Interscan
Virus Wall to protect the network from viruses and other bad
email content.
A backup tape drive was installed and a nightly backup schedule
was configured with automated email reports of backup status.

their data size and email can be available on any PC
in the network.
Email transfer is instant and there is no need to wait
to download email.
A "Global Address List" of all employees
is available, enabling all users to find a colleagues
details easily.
Via the web users have HTTP access to their email from
anywhere in the world, with an experience that closely
matches Outlook.
Administration of user email accounts is now simple
through the Windows Active Directory and can be managed
internally by the client.
Client has peace of mind that a backup solution is
in place, and managing it is hassle free.
Ongoing consultancy and support is now provided on an
ad hoc basis.
